What are GPS Routes?

Anevenontas GPS Routes is a platform for organizing GPX tracks, enriched with photos and info to create complete routes.

Purpose

Anevenontas GPS Routes aims to archive and share outdoor routes (hiking, ski touring, cycling, etc.) that have been, to the extent possible, verified and made freely accessible to its members.

What kinds of .gpx routes are supported?

  • Hiking

  • Winter Mountaineering

  • Ski Touring

  • Road Cycling

  • Mountain Biking

  • Touring Cycling

  • Urban Cycling

  • Trail Running

Can I upload routes?

Yes — that's the point! But only if you're genuinely willing to offer original, high-quality material to fellow mountaineers.

What are the requirements for uploading a route?

You must register.

Which routes are not published?

Duplicates. Personal routes with no broader interest. Poor-quality or incomplete data

Examples“Walk with my dog in Penteli” or “Afternoon jog in Parnitha” won't be published — nor a new recording of a route that already exists.

Does the route I upload need approval?

Yes. Routes are reviewed to avoid duplicates and ensure recording quality. Approval may take from a few minutes up to 48 hours.

Can I correct or enhance a route’s data?

Yes. Every route has a form where you can submit better files or report errors. Edits are reviewed before publication.

Are GPS files considered intellectual property?

Yes — they remain the uploader’s property, but are free for personal use. Photos and descriptions require explicit permission for further use.

Can I upload a race route?

Yes — you may include the race name in the title (e.g., "Olympus Mountain Marathon"), but no external links are allowed. Full event listings must be posted separately.

Are the routes safe?

It should be clearly understood that the routes and, more broadly, the information published on anevenontas.gr are verified to the extent possible. However, you are solely responsible for using this information correctly and safely. Hiking, winter mountaineering, ski touring, and mountain sports in general involve unpredictability, risk, and the possibility of injury — or even death. Anevenontas.gr urges users to take this into serious consideration.

Join the Route-Building Effort. If you have a route worth sharing, something beautiful, useful, and true we invite you to contribute. Whether it's a mountaineering line, a quiet forest trail, or a backcountry ski descent, your knowledge matters.
