The route starts from the Kozani Alpine Club (SEO Kozani) refuge at Bara, right on the ridge. The path begins a little further south (to the left of a distinctive large boulder known as "Kouko") and heads right, traversing uphill across the slope. Although the path is partly worn away by the cattle grazing in the area and there are no markings, the trace is clear and easily leads us up to the ridge at 2,130 m, where it meets a road. From there, in just a few minutes, we easily climb to Flambouro, the highest peak of the Pieria Mountains. Excellent views of Mount Olympus opposite. In good weather, the route is suitable for beginners as well, and if the path were in better condition, it would also be suitable for children.
