Paliochori – Skipiza | Parnitha

An easy ascent to the highest fountain of Mount Parnitha, through a landscape still marked by the great fire of 2007, with views stretching to the Gulf of Elefsina.

Bare, grass-covered slopes of Mount Parnitha, with the forested Karavola peak in the background.
The bare but lush green slopes below the still-forested Karavola, the highest peak of Mount Parnitha.

A short and easy ascent to the highest spring on Mount Parnitha, Skipiza. This trail once crossed the area's very dense fir forest, which was completely destroyed in the great fire of 2007. Despite this, it remains a very beautiful route, with views stretching all the way down to the Gulf of Elefsina. You can return the same way, or continue on towards Bafi or Mola, or towards the ring road, making either a short or long loop, depending on your mood. An ideal route for beginners and families.
